Weekend’s Forecast
With the Germans on holiday, it has been a rather quiet day.
Rather than do nothing, I decided that I would do my taxes 10 days before they are due to the IRS. This is unusual behavior for me. Typically, I put off my taxes like a visit to the proctologist. The good news is that I don’t have colon cancer AND I’m getting a refund! Approximately $2000! Last year I bought a new laptop with my refund. This year, it’s already been spent on assorted things: trips to Spain, London, Italy, high definition video cameras, talking GPS navigators. I still have a trip back to the US to buy for my sister’s wedding recpetion and a trip to Berlin to finance for the World Cup Quarterfinals match.
Speaking of which, I have been fortunate enough to be picked up as a writer for We All Speak Football:
The idea behind the project is a once in a lifetime gathering of football fans around the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. People from all over Europe will have the opportunity to get together, live together for a few days and enjoy the exciting atmosphere around the FIFA World CupTM – and break down barriers by blogging about all this!An apartment in Berlin Wilmersdorf (near Kurfürstendamm) will be the global online stage for sharing experiences with fans around the world and giving a colorful look from one of the hottest spots during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
I will be prolifically documenting my time there. In the meantime, you can catch me singing karaoke and drinking bumwines this weekend in Kusel.
